Overview

Cognito Systems, a Planned Systems International (PSI) joint venture, is seeking an Athletic Trainer Clinical Supervising Physician to support the Army’s Holistic Health and Fitness (H2F) System. This position is remote.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Be a Part of the Team: Cognito Systems, is a Mentor-Protégé Joint Venture between QuarterLine Consulting Services and Resolution Think. Cognito Systems is completely committed to providing high-quality service to our customers and to delivering world-class healthcare to members of our military and our nation’s veterans.
  • Type of Work: Part-Time (up to 2 hours per week)
  • Location: Remote
  • Responsibilities: Provide clinical oversight of up to 16 Athletic Trainers in alignment with state rules and regulations, which may include reviewing and signing supervising physician protocol for state licensing requirements. Clinical Supervision may include:
    • Weekly office hours (up to 2 hours a week) to discuss patient cases, best practices, current research, etc.
    • Quarterly presentations to Athletic Trainers to discuss best practices, current research, etc.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree: Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)
  • Licensure: Unrestricted medical license in Texas, in good standing with the board.
  • Certifications: BLS Provider certification at minimum.
  • Experience: Proficiency in the prevention and care of musculoskeletal injuries and medical conditions encountered in sports. Fundamental understanding of sports-related emergency care (concussion, cardiac emergencies, spinal injuries, heat-related injuries).
  • Citizenship: U.S. Citizen
  • Credentialing: Ability to pass background check and drug screen. Current physical and immunizations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working with Athletic Trainers in supervisory capacity.
  • Experience with military medical system (Army or H2F preferred).
  • Medical specialty board certification (i.e., orthopedics, sports medicine, etc.)
